Loyola University New Orleans: A closer look

Loyola had recently undergone a re-brand; while beautiful in print applications, some of the color palettes and typography choices had difficult functional implications for web; I worked to adjust and translate these to create light, open layouts and soften the use of reds to only apply to alerts and prominent text.

Loyola offers the unique proposition of dual degrees, combining unconventional majors and minors, and a comprehensive music program. We wanted prospective students to freely explore all the University’s options, so we developed a configurer that would pull degrees tagged with interests, that could then be filtered through mode and program level

Each of Loyola’s colleges structure their program hierarchy differently, so I worked with the development team to come up with three common patterns that could both be achieved with the new program finder feature.

While architecting the site, we folded other sites in when possible and created a hierarchical plan for sunsetting or updating older sites
